Resilience
Resilience
It doesn't ever really stop hurting,
You learn to live with it.
And at times the pain catches you off guard,
It wells up your eyes
And puts a harsh quiver on your lips.
It lodges a lump that cannot
Be swallowed in your throat
And takes away the feeling
In your fingers.
But then you catch yourself,
You remember how long
It took and how far you've come,
Not to stop feeling the pain,
But to just learn to live with it.
