Rape Of An Angel

Rape Of An Angel

In the freezing nights on the streets of Kashmir

A feeble angel was lying in the midst of roads

Torn were the clothes and stained was the silhouette

Besides the body, two demons were savouring her flesh

Satiating their hunger and the never-ending thirst

Lusting with her body with piercing venomous fangs

Passersby pretending deaf, dumb and blind

Kicked out by her own, disowned by her blood

The fault of hers, she was mad and mentally deranged

Thereby to be thrown out of her home

An appetizer to be relished by the strangers

Such was the scene, so was the humanity

That the hymns of verses from a nearby mosque

Could not stop the demons could not shame them

If the inhumane act, of the heinous crime

That the shrieks and the cries of the little angel

Remained unheard, remained futile

The sobbing of the fairy was muted forever

By the religious sermons and the god-fearing men

The eighth-month foetus was drenched in the mud

The heavens were falling and the sky was cursing

All of them thanking their creator their lord

For not opening eyes in the valley of Sufis

And the alcove of saints

Times are gone when we were proud of the land of our humanity

That humanity which was ripped, raped and torn

In the darkest hours on the streets of the city

Heads down with shame ... and few nerves up with anger

Heartless hearts and soulless souls to which we belong

I close my eyes with moisture and gloom

And get lost with comrades of my zombies
