Pride
Pride
They were born a female
They were supposed to be
Draped in a long gown
And adorn themeselves
with a bejeweled crown
That's what the others wanted.
They chose to keep it simple,
And follow their heart
To identity as someone they want to
Not what the society wants them to
She was made to believe
Her prince would come.
She was made to dream of a man
But is it so wrong that she came across a woman instead?
They sneered and mocked at her
For expressing herself.
They called her names.
But it won't stop her from dreaming about her love.
He was forced to act tough
To never cry
To never express his "femininity"
And to always be enough for the right 'lady'
Or he'd never find someone.
He did find someone-
The right man for him.
It's not an act, Neither a joke
He loves him and forever will
She was supposed to
Be the perfect "son"
She was rather forced to do so
She wasn't supposed to be a "man"
And even though she is a woman now
When she was "supposed" to be a man
That does not make her
Any less of women than others
She was supposed to "choose" one
When she liked more than one
She was supposed to love one
But ended up loving more.
It's not "just a phase"
And she's not "confused"
It's not that "she just hasn't met the one"
She likes multiple genders and always will.
