Police Officer

Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid,

And maybe remind the few, if ill of us they speak,

That we are all that stands between the monsters and the weak,

In this family, no one fights alone. 

What most people do not understand is that you could be the biggest thug that ever existed but if you needed help, I would be there,

I will show up when your friends won’t – or if they run away, 

I work with brace men and women, who do the same,  

We go, We help. It is what we do. 

Heroes don’t always wear capes

There is no elegant way to protect sheep from hungry wolves

I’m the police, I’m here to arrest you, You’ve broken the law,

I did not write the law,

I may even disagree with the law but I will enforce it and no matter how you plead, congol, beg or attempt to stir my sympathies, 

Nothing you do will stop me from placing you in a steel cage with grey bars. 

If you run away, I will chase you,

If you fight me, I will fight back,

If you shoot at me, I will shoot back, By law, I am unable to walk away,

I am a consequence. I am the unpaid bill.

I am fate with a badge and a gun, Behind my badge is a heart like yours, I bleed, I think, I love, and yes, I can be killed,

And although I am but one man, 

I have thousands of brothers and sisters who are the same as me. 

They will lay down their lives for me, and them. 

We stand to watch together, 

A thin blue line, protecting the prey from the predators, 

The good from the bad. We are the police. 

Down these mean streets, a man must go who is not himself mean, 

And who is neither tarnished nor afraid,

A society that chooses war against the police better learn to make peace with its criminals. 

Law enforcement officers are never ‘off duty,’ 

They are dedicated public servants; who are sworn to protect public safety at any time,

and place that the peace is threatened,

They need all the help that they can get. 

A true police officer fights not because he hates what’s in front of him, 

But because he loves who stands behind him.

The duties of an officer are the safety, honour, and welfare of your country first; 

The honour, welfare, and comfort of the men in your command second; 

And the officer’s own ease, comfort, and safety last. 

Blessed are the peacekeepers, 

For they shall be called the children of God,

I prefer peace, but if trouble must come, 

Let it come in my time so that my children can live in peace. 

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night;

Only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf,

Real heroes die serving the law, not resisting it,

A police force, wherever they are, is made up of amazing people, and I respect them a great deal. 

Society questions the police and their methods, and the police say, 

Do you want the criminals off the street or not?

Cops work for a cause, not applause,

Do what you can with all you have, wherever you are,

The wicked flee when no man pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion.
