Abstract Others Children

Poila boishakh /bengali new yr

Poila boishakh /bengali new yr

2 mins
293

Awake at night I lay,

As the sleepless moon shone smiling back at me from the window

As if  talking of a long forgotten friend

 I remembered it

Can I as Bengali forget the sheer joy

The joy of poila boishakh, a new beginning

Time couldn't  have gone dreadfully slow

Than the night I lay on my bed restlessly

Waiting for the morning to glow

I thought of my clothes

All bright and shiny New

Closed in a cupboard restless as I

Waiting to be worn

Close my eyes I did

Listing all the adventures and food galore

A rough idea of spending the entire time with my family

The happiest time I would spend

For no virus no pandemic

Ever can stop me from having a jolly good time

Slowly yet cautiously slumber crept

And I imagined my way to the start

The start of a grand new  year

A night before poila boishakh  for me

Is always pleasant and full of happiness.
