Poetically Speaking

Writing stories had been her long-time passion,

Putting pen to paper always spurred her imagination;

Now there seemed a new entrant, to her wonder;

Her sudden urge to write in verse made her sit back and ponder!

Poetry had always seemed beyond her realm,

Thinking in rhyme was difficult to helm;

Lyrical writing had never been her calling,

Lack of rhythm and meter had been so very galling!

But now the God of rhyme had made its appearance,

And had her dazzled by its astonishing brilliance!

Creating beauty with words was a path so new,

Style, emotions and aesthetics was to her a delicious brew!

She had fallen hook, line and sinker,

Driven like a horse with his ever-worn blinkers;

Creativity was now a visual delight,

And her imagination took an ecstatic flight!

Rhyming words took on a new meaning,

Seeing a poem emerge had her happily beaming!

Interplay of words and patterns, came tumbling out,

It was as if poetry had ended her inspiration drought!

Waddling like a baby, she took small tentative steps,

Poems and poetry seemed her definitive next;

She preened like a peacock on a rainy day,

The poet in her had made its first foray!
