Your dreams your lips uttered just yesterday

Sparkling eyes and a wide oval smile you peered over your shoulder

I saw your determination yet your head faced your past 

You were not ready to let go for fear had got the best part of you

Though the sun shone in your face it veiled the brokenness deep in your core
