Peace, Hard To Paint
Peace, Hard To Paint
When I was a kid, I often asked
The reasons why terrors cast
Why wars break out, why fights occur
Doesn’t the brethren like the wholesome peaceful shower?
Alas, the answer never came
Atleast not the one quenching curiosity
And the mind searched for worthy answers
While flames of opinions showered and splattered
My mother’s words went out and about
To me, her child, she exclaimed out loud
What seems on the surface is too superficial
Those doors enclose unthinkable visuals
And that made the mind alight
With an epiphany that changed my life
The kid in me, was innocent and fragile
She didn’t know what cruelty lies beneath those hooded eyes
“War shouldn’t happen”, this thought “humans” have
“We all want peace” is a jarred contrast
But greed has failed all our ethics
We are now drifting away like pitiful fragments
So peace and war, this is a complicated picture to paint
Wars don’t happen only out of disdain
For greed is what darkened our minds
Even though peace truly ignites the hearts inside
