Pain in the Knee
Pain in the Knee
In the last leg of my journey
My leg won’t last, cause the painful knee
It is all pain, no gain, life in vain, smile I feign
Enough is enough, going is tough
When will the going get going, beginning of the ending, is death awaiting
To the inner voice listening, eyes glistening, focus on breathing, on pain meditating
No champagne, no campaign, no celebration , no cremation
End in the mortuary, will it be in January or February
Music outside, musing inside, no raga, only dissonance
Not a believer in god, know pain will dog, can’t dodge
To the doctor I lodge a complaint
He prescribes medication, says have it with dedication, not a cure, but mitigation.
In the family have genetic disposition, for trouble with joints
Otherwise a family disjointed.
With the rambling, the pain lessens
I learn a lesson, keep the mind distracted, not bound to the pain.
I am not the first, nor will be the last, why crib, during the time I last?
Least I could do, find solace in verses, this ode to the pain
Will not go in vain!!
