One Day
One Day
I see people breaking free from every worry one day.
For me... can it be today?
They say the dawn will chase the night,
Yet shadows cling where I have been.
I wear a smile that looks so bright,
While hiding tears no one has seen.
If they had to choose one, each would choose—
But never me.
They only know how to break people
So easily.
The struggles on my back—do they ever see?
Yet the results must be perfect, completely.
I'm skilled, curious as hell,
But locked like a plaintive nightingale in a cage.
If I ever try, I'm only pushed
And made to fall.
Good—
But never perfect at all.
Seeing people's cracks, yet unable to help.
Never knowing what to do,
What to tell.
I know how to heal,
But the words never reached out.
And still I fear...
What if I lose?
The fear inside my head
Has never been fought.
I built my hopes with patient hands,
Believing dreams would set me free.
But every step on shifting lands
Left broken pieces deep in me.
I watched my failures softly grow,
Like silent rain that would not cease.
Seeing my name drift with the wind,
Stealing away my little peace.
I once loved being in pain,
But that changed, day by day.
I wished to wash away my own rain,
Yet all I could do was simply stay.
Can't move, yet can't stay—
No one cares.
When every second feels like holding empty hands,
I almost pity myself and all my despair,
Yet it never heals its own demands.
The mirror knows the truth I hide.
It sees the cracks behind my eyes.
It hears the storms I keep inside,
And every dream that slowly dies.
I searched for reasons to move on,
For one small light beyond the gray.
But every hope was nearly gone,
Like fading stars before the day.
Still, every heartbeat whispers low,
Though weary from the endless fight.
It tells me there is more to know,
Beyond this long and lonely night.
I stand with silent tears,
Still carrying burdens so heavy.
If I have spent my precious years,
Why does it still feel like nothing?
Do you know how hard it is
To suffer through every living hour?
I stood there watching my competitors win,
Wishing them well,
Even when I never knew who they were.
Just once...
I want to see myself happy from within.
A few stood beside me,
Even when I chose to hide.
Trying to solve the questions
I had buried deep inside.
They stayed with me
When I felt as good as dead,
Even though they never knew
The battles inside my head.
So tell me...
How long must a heart keep smiling while it quietly breaks?
How many silent battles must a soul survive before someone finally sees?
If I've carried this weight alone for all these years...
Will anyone ever ask how hard it was when carrying my own heart?
