One Chance
One Chance
Mother, you are an embodiment of Godliness
Epitomizing omnipotence and chasteness
Every passing day I open my eyes
To say a prayer for your soul divine
All the while, during your living years
You toiled, endured with dried tears
Your family was all that mattered to you
Immune to the world, your family was the world for you
From dawn to dusk, days started with chores
Nights culminated in ensuring duties were completed to the core
And the little time you had for leisure
You found no one around to lend an ear
While everyone was growing with their own happiness
You continued living in a cocoon with your own emptiness
Not a word of rebel came on your lips
Fulfilling duties was your only wishlist
If only I could turn back the time
If only I could nurture you with my own hands
O Lord! If only I could get one chance to have my mother
Nothing else in this world would matter
Nature has its own rules
Karma has it's own rules
Good actions, good deeds
Repentance is zilch indeed.
