Once upon a time

There were factories and mills

They billowed smoke

That turned air noxious

And made people ill

They dumped poison in rivers and streams

That turned water toxic, killed aquatic beings

Their unceasing bellow, incessant commotion

Caused hearing loss, stress, hypertension

And then they all stopped

Suddenly

Abruptly

No smoke, no sound, nothing blighted

What a magical scene the world then sighted!

Skies turned from lead to blue

Water flowed crystal clear, birds flew

Air turned crisp, cool and gentle

Sunlight streamed like diamond's sparkle

Sparrows chirped, twittreti returned

Sounds of nature delighted and gladdened

The story goes that a virus was on prowl

It stalked, afflicted, killed and howled

While humans got locked to survive

Nature rejuvenated,healed and thrived

The cure surprisingly was to stay indoors

Sanitization precautions to be safe and secure

An invisible mighty dreaded sore

Taught humans not to mess with nature

Thus goes the lore...
