Nostalgic Memory of My First Born
Nostalgic Memory of My First Born
Grabbed aloo dum and dahi vada
from a street vendor that night
and went to sleep with my tummy tight
switching off all lights
The next day as the dawn crawls
got in stomach shooting pains
when outside it was pouring heavy rain
Came for delivery to my father’s place
with heavy tummy at the last pace
My brother had a medical tour to undertake
which he dropped for my sake
Took me to the hospital
for delivery with much stress
and put me in labour room
terrifying with worry and distress
As the baby cordoned with a cord
everyone was in a stage of panic
I tolerated all labour discomfort
praying to lord
to relieve from that tragic
At last at nine hours and twenty minutes at night
blessed with a fair cute moon-like baby boy
which vanished all my birth pangs like the magic of light
and filled my heart with bountiful of joy
and brightened my face with
sparkling smiles and myriad delight
