Mystic Escape

Mystic Escape

I stood in the rain not sure what to do

It drenched me from head to toe

And left me feeling empty on the inside

I didn’t have anywhere to go.

I know I have to complete my mission

But I am afraid to fail

I wish I was not afraid to fall

Wish I was more like the rain

It descended on me in great torrents

As did the rays of fear

People moved from around me

They didn’t want to come near.

I hid under a tree

But the rain found me there too

I didn’t know how to escape it

No, I didn’t have a clue

She approached me

With the stuffed toy in her hand

I looked up at the clouds

Was it time to return to the sand?

The rain of life troubled me

I wasn’t sure anymore

I didn’t want to do this

But I was forced by the downpour

I came out of the shadows

But I didn’t notice her soft eyes

She glowed and smiled at me

And I knew the rain had no choice

In one last attempt to escape

I asked, “Will you take me with you?”

She stretched out her hand and held me

As our feet rose above the dew.
