My Prayers to the Supreme Lord
My Prayers to the Supreme Lord
I offer my prayers to Mahadeva,
To the Supreme God, I truly admire,
Also known as Rudra, Shekhara, Neelkantha, Maheshwaraaya………………….(1)
He is formless, eternal, and divine,
Smeared with ash and draped in tiger hide
Venerated by aghorees, rishis, munis all night………………………………….. (2)
As I offer bel-patra, datura, and bhasma to the mighty linga,
Sins of past lives seem to absolve in.
I am in awe and completely mystified,
With his Trishul and indescribable aura within……………………………….. .. (3)
As I wander from one Jyotirlinga to the other,
The thirst within me does not seem to quench.
The Lord of the 3 Worlds keeps me spellbound,
&
nbsp; He seems to mesmerize me from within………………………………………… (4)
The Supreme Lord pleases one and all,
Yaksha, Kinnara, and Devata appease him,
Selflessly he grants boons to one and all………………………………………… (5)
He assumes various forms,
Benevolent ones like the gullible Bholenaath,
While ferocious ones too like the mighty Nataraja,
Who stupefies one and all,
With his Tandava dance………………………………………………………….. (6)
As we move past from one century to another,
The glory of Someshwar, Mallikarjuna, and Grishneswar will not fade in,
The Supreme Lord will keep us captivated,
As we continue to sing eternal glories of him………………………………….. (7)
