At the airport I stand, to bid farewell,

To the weirdo whom I call my friend.

You're going to tread on a path not known so well,

It's the memories that'll stay till the end.

Your vile idea didn't go as planned.

The chalk hit the teacher on his glasses,

Turning around, he saw a chalk in my hand.

Up went the dreaded cane, always ready to mince,

I extended my palm, my nerves cold as ice.

Still not believing the act of sacrifice.

Our line of thought were often in parity,

With all our memories kept in secure vaults.

Out of many, you were truly a rarity,

One who understood me despite all my faults.

Remember that day, when my eyes were glistening,

I was behaving like nothing happened.

You sat by my side, patiently listening,

Then one gentle hug, and the floodgates opened.

I was crying, withered in pain and grief,

You held me tightly, like a newborn child.

The sorrow disappeared in a moment so brief,

You continued your blabbering, till I smiled.

The final boarding call, it's time for you to leave,

Hurriedly, you disappeared in the crowd.

Cheers to the success you'll weave,

And stories that will make me proud.

You came as a gentle breeze in my life's race,

A person so caring and clever,

I am wishing, with a smile on my face,

May this friendship last forever.
