Message To Keep
Message To Keep
Guns blazing, windows shattered!
The little boy woke up from his sleep.
The dull thud at the door, and shallow shout,
The little boy had a message to keep.
A bomb exploded and the ground shook,
With a struggle to stand, the little boy took a leap.
He lives alone since the sickening night,
When the town was left in half.
A million died, a million survived, and a mother lost.
The little boy walked out onto the street,
I stood aghast, for war is cruel,
And before I could move, a bullet passed,
Grazing my shoulder and into the boy's heart.
I ran across the rattling streak,
A dull thud on the ground, and a shallow shout,
I now had a message to keep.
