Heaven knows

The weight of blows

Or size of vows

That drive sanity

Out of one so manly

To a den so ghastly

For a sip so intoxicating

That leads to forgetting

A spouse so loving

A child so caring

A home so inviting

Sends him deep

Into a ditch so steep

To therein find his sleep

Snoring non stop

Till dawn of the 'morrow

When memory regrows

I need help to know.
