Lovingly Yours
Lovingly Yours
I have loved you since our teens,
Even when in school, you were surrounded by admirers umpteen.
You, of course, did not even know that I existed,
But one day the tables would turn, my heart insisted.
We grew up and went our separate ways,
Life happened and I had to
give up the chase.
You, of course, were oblivious of my love and its aches!
I knew, I will make you mine, whatever it takes.
Years passed by but like a thorn that pricks,
The mole on your chin had my heart in its grip.
You of course, impervious of my plight,
Blithely soared out of my sight!
Love and I have been strange bedfellows,
When I had almost given up, it turned mellow.
You, of course, came to the fortieth reunion for fun,
And there the foxy rogue its web spun!
The ambience and the full moon nights did the trick,
Love played cupid and lighted the wick!
You of course then saw me in a different light,
I was transformed into your shining in armour knight!
Now at the cusp of our sixties,
Love has blossomed as it should have in our twenties.
You, of course, have discovered our love today,
But for me, it never ever went away!
