Love's Sorrow

Love's Sorrow

With that smile

Painted on her lips,

She hides the sorrows of her heart.

Sitting by the window

All alone in the dark nights,

Her sorrows escape through her eyes.

Some bitter truths of life

She had learnt;

If you play with fire,

You'll be burnt.

Love is evil,

A game of two hearts;

Played until dreams are broken

And the heart is crushed.

With pain and sorrow

Filling her breath;

To him what was cruelty,

To her that was death.

She was alive

But her heart was not beating;

It was cold and still,

She was alive

But she was not living.
