Love Amidst Death

She was a friend of mine,

I'll tell her story this time,

We went to school together,

We had fun together.

      Then round came adolescent,

      Well, or was it beginning of teenage,

      She met a guy,

      A very sweet guy.

Then onwards it was their story,

We friends faded away slowly,

They went to college together,

And to Med School too.

     They became Doctors, 

     Well known and considerate at that,

     We all were happy for them,

     Well, a bit jealous too.

Then finally their relation

Reached the final juncture,

When their marriage was to happen.

     Well here too Fate smiled,

     And parents smiled too,

     Then just like that,

     They were married too.

But,

     Fate had a different story to tell,

     He was a Great Doctor we know well,

     But the Greater Corona struck,

     And there was no luck.

He went down like a True Warrior,

Helping others- a Corona Warrior,

In a second, her anchor,

Her love and life was taken.

      But,

She did not lose heart,

She had a mission to undertake,

She took his vision, 

His mission ahead.

      Now, a year later,

      The Great Corona follows,

      Again she fights,

      But yet again Fate decides.

Now, she is on the bed,

Awaiting anxiously to be dead,

And meet her loved one,

In a world yet another one.

      How many have we lost?

      How many more to lose?

      To this Corona,

      To this Mighty Vicious Corona.

But, 

      Do we really care?

      Yes, let us face it,

      Do we really care?
