Laurels In The Wind

Laurels In The Wind

1 min
447

I took on a path

Trodden by flowers and thorns alike

The journey was tiresome, and much more

Touched by memories, sweet and sour

The walk goes on and on

Is it pleasure, peace, or riches I should seek?

I asked a fellow traveller

Whatever you desire may present itself

As a fresh wreath of laurels, solemn and august

Laid ahead of thee

The closer you get, further it moves

Away from thy sight

As if caught by some wind in a frolic

Entire lives are spent or wasted maybe

Chasing the laurels in the wind
