Femme fatale

Once upon a time 

There lived a woman ruler in history,

she was no mystery.

Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, 

with intelligence, and learning 

left men adulating and yearning.

Her eyelids painted blue and green,

her hair, velvety sheen.

Her beauty entrapped many, 

 twining around her fingers 

were Ceaser  and Anthony 

To her magnetic looks

many were hooked.

Moving about, like a snaky charm,

none escaped the harm.

She, the last ruler of the Ptolemy dynasty.

In her youth, her Sun and Stars rose, 

she enjoyed the throne 'Majesty'.

The Queen ruled the kingdom,

with reigns in her hand,

compelled her subjects, beside her to stand. 

She ruled with grit,

the throne, only for her to sit. 

Alas! The Sun reached zenith ! When her kingdom 'Fall'

Cleopatra licked venom,

she breathed her last!

Her all !

Cleopatra, femme fatale!
