SNIGDHA AGRAWAL

Abstract

Jealousy

Jealousy

1 min 105 1 min 105

Cracks appeared first

As hairline fractures

Not visible even

To the naked eye

Over seemingly

Innocuous words

Stored permanently

In the rom of mind

Retrieved, misinterpreted,

Flung on the face

Like patties of cow dung

Cultural differences

Rearing up

Chasms deepened

Jealousies heightened

Accusations sharpened

Craggy edges all the

More roughened

All stemming from an

Inferiority complex just

Because success crown

Stood on one head firm

The other head naked

A crown not placed overnight

Born with it

Bejeweled at every stage

Now shouldn't that translate

As a matter of immense pride

Instead, a war of words waged?
