Infidelity
Infidelity

Do you do that too?
Squeaking the voice
With a shine of curiosity in eyes
To look for every minute detail in someone
Someone you love
Do you lose control of years of training and hard work too?
Do you become raw?
Because I do that
I let my inner child show
When I feel safe, at peace
I let my guard down I think, around you
Other times, I act adult
But that day
My gaze was different
Did you feel it?
It didn't glimmer like a galaxy
Didn't search for poetry in you
Or observe how your hair shine
Or your beard pokes
Or every crevix of your slim face blends in itself
It stared right into your eyes
Until you felt shy, mistaking it
for flirt
Your dark brown eyes,
Giant as the mountains
Deep as the sea
So when the golden ray fell
Turning them into light brown
A whole new world, new dimensions rose inside them
And I stared
Not admiring the myriads in it
But searching
Searching for lies in those buildings
Maybe I can find it in some drawer beneath
Or some secret case
Or maybe it's somewhere lying in the streets
Undermining my blurry vision and foggy mind
I searched for deceit, for infidelity
And I'm sorry
You can assure me a hundred times
But I'll look for it again, I know
At slightest signs, for the faintest possibility
"All is well"
Just never sat right with me.
