Inevitable Endings
Inevitable Endings
The springtime elapsed,
Leaving willows and cherry blossoms.
Longer daytime to spend, perhaps,
Shorter nights with you at Boston.
You waited for the summers,
Long before the winter started,
Yet I've always hated them, profusely.
I don't quite know the reason why,
Perhaps, because everything shined
To its full brightness,
But not me.
Have you ever thought of what makes the sun stay a little longer?
Is it because of the sunflowers that bloom in its presence?
Or the river that melts watching it shine?
Perhaps, crops make it stay. Do they?
Or is it you
and your yearning?
Everything comes with uncertainty,
The thoughts,
The actions,
The words,
Uncertain.
Am I Icarus or are you?
If it's me, I'll melt, merrily,
For I know that I'll melt into the ocean
to which you provide your warmth.
Am I Apollo or are you?
If it's me, tell me-
All your thoughts when you fell.
Do you regret approaching me?
Tell me,
Is my warmth sufficient?
Tell me,
Does it hurt?
Tell me-
Do I hate your absence or do I hate summers?
Tell me.
