In The Realm Of A Book

Under the light, beneath the reality, I live.

Layers of lifelessness surround me

Yet, I survive, I laugh, I cry, I feel free.

There are no clouds, neither does it rain

Yet I feel the chill, I get wet again, and again.

A single source of light tries its best to glow,

Yet I feel the sun shines bright, the wind flows.

Hours turn to days, and days turn to months

And I hear no sound from the distant reality,

Too distant you would think, too near I believe.

And I see no face, I see no smile...

Yet, I am in a carnival, spanning over a mile.

Filled with joyous humans, honest humans,

As alive as they have ever been, pure humans...

The drums roll, the trumpets hump, it's a celebration...

I hear the cheers, I hear the claps.

I am glad I reached here dodging all the traps.

Oh, a hero's welcome awaits me,

True to my-self I feel, as true as I've ever been...

I am in a world, that's written with emotion's ink.

And as much as I look at it, I try not to blink.
