Here Medusa is not punished (for being raped).

In my dreams, Medusa is called a chaste priestess.

She worships and she is worshipped.

In my dreams

Kali is celebrating herself, spilling champagne and calling it Ganga.

In my dreams, Kali doesn't see the need for revenge

She is adored and she is at peace.

In my dreams

Demeter rides a scooter and drops Persephone at karate class every day.

In my dreams she is a normal woman;

Just another woman who refuses to transfer her mellowness to her daughter.

People admire her for her courage.

In my dreams

Nirbhaya boards the bus.

She boards the bus and gets home safe back to her family.

In my dreams, Nirbhaya becomes a doctor.

Opening people up to save their lives and is not the girl who has her insides checked for leftover violence.

People call her saviour and not a victim.

But

These are just dreams and dreams break dragging me back to reality!

To the girl who refuses to get a haircut so she could hide behind it.

To the girl who is afraid of taking up space.

To the girl that nobody falls in love with at first sight.

To the girl who spends her days making butterflies to feel less lonely and more like the girls I keep mentioning in my poems.
