She lit up our lives strutting like a peacock

Proud of her good looks, she had attitude.

Always prancing around playfully

When we felt dull we would tease her

She would run around wildly toppling things

Playing catch me if you can. So full of life.

Her large eyes so expressive and magical

Gave beauty to her face and grace.

All expression flitted across her face:

Happiness while eating her food,

Excitement while going for a walk,

Sadness at being left alone; she had it all.

She lay at our feet when we slept.

She passed away, in her memories we live, leaving us in pain and tears.

Lovings moments she shared with us

Taught us about love for a lifetime

Of selflessness, of happiness, of affection.

A lesson on how life should be lived.

memories you left behind
