I Wrote A Poem
I Wrote A Poem
There I was, awaiting bed
So I wrote a poem to clear my head
Not the same as the previous ones
No regard for pentameter or puns
Just a desire to wind things down
To ease my nerves, forget this town
It had been a taxing day
It had sent my mind astray
My head was pounding, endless stress
My back was sore, but I digress
I knew four stanzas would be best
Then I’d retire to my nest
Finally, it neared the end
I knew I’d send it to a friend
The poem I wrote that weary night
Before my dreams fulfilled my plight
