I want to be by your side

I want to be by your side

If I can continue to love you like this,

I don’t mind if my feelings never reach you.

Untied, yet intertwined…

Tears flowing deep in my heart.

Despite how delicate and fragile that branch may seem,

At its very tip, your future is being born.

So don’t cut off those days you’ve yet to see,

And smile for the time being; as you focus on the past, I only wish to protect you.

I’ll embrace the tears flowing deep in my heart,

Because I want to be by your side…

Because I want to be by your side…

Whenever I’m about to forget my dreams, I see your tears and remember:

Again and again, they remind me of why I’ve come this far.

This wind of unrequited love pulls along our second spring hanging over the bank;

I hope to someday bloom next to you, upon the same branch.

Is the reason you sometimes smile with those sad eyes…

… that there’s still a part of your heart you can’t show me?

Despite how delicate and fragile that branch may seem,

At its very tip, your future is being born.

So don’t cut off those days you’ve yet to see,

And smile for the time being; as you focus on the past, I only wish to protect you.

Whenever your heart seems about to break, if you’ll just lean upon my shoulder,

I’ll carefully carry that overwhelming burden you’ve been clinging to.

You always remain a part of my tomorrow,

Becoming a wind that subdues any doubts I may have.
