I Just Want to Be Me?

I smile a lot, I laugh out loud,
I try to cheer up every crowd.
But sometimes people walk away,
Even when I try to make their day.

I trust too fast, I open wide,
Let people see what’s deep inside.
But not everyone is kind and true,
Some hurt me, though I never knew.

I say what’s real, I speak my mind,
No hidden games, I try to be kind.
But honest words can scare or sting,
And some don’t like the truth I bring.

I care too much, I give my all,
I lift up others when they fall.
But when I need a little care,
I look around, no one is there.

Still, I won’t stop being me,
One day, the right ones I will see.
They’ll love my heart, they’ll truly stay,
And I won’t have to change my way.
