I Found Love

I Found Love

Often I'm lost when nocturnal flowers bloom

In thoughts of the lips that nurtured them.

But then when have those flowers kissed me back?

I never found love and they slowly wither away.

The dawn greets me but I'm still chasing the night,

In my dreams I walk on the dispersed white clovers.

They beg me to memorise the lettering of yesterdays

And lie that my calligraphic words would be prettier.

Still my fingers brush them with utmost care

And an eglantine blooms at the tip of my pen.

Time gets defeated by that eternal flower,

Given birth by the ghost of nostalgic thoughts.

After all this, love would be still hidden from me,

Counting days on autumnal leaves with precision.

I found love in derivative sayings of everyday lovers,

So I tried to build it with moments which you failed to see.

Kiss me when the dust from these bones is lamented,

When all that is left of me is my distorted poetry,

Whose sighs might be heard like reverberations,

Ringing faintly in deaf ears that found me in love.
