How Great Was That Childhood
How Great Was That Childhood
How great was that childhood,
Where the nights were full of sleep,
Where we could sleep whenever we could,
And the dreams were actually deep.
Now all we get,
Are nights with restless sleep.
Days start to bet;
‘What you sow, that shall you reap’.
How great was that childhood,
Where we knew nothing at all,
And believed whatever we understood,
Also, every thought that used to crawl.
What now in life seems a mix,
It once screamed happiness.
What pleasure was in those little tricks;
Is what our presence tries to confess.
How great was that childhood,
Where we kept no grudges,
Nor knowledge of falsehood,
Of how bad one is.
All I want is a break,
Far from this blockade,
The happy-go-lucky days are at stake,
Slowly, as the memories start to fade.
