Hide and Seek

The seeker starts to count: 

“Fourteen, fifteen, sixteen”

We erase our traces as we hide 

So, no one knows where we’ve been 

The seeker shouts:

‘Are y’all ready?’ 

Don’t breathe, don’t move 

Be still and steady 

Hide behind the curtains

Under the tables or bed 

Keep your hands and feet tucked in 

And hope no one sees your head 

The seeker gets annoyed 

Can not find anyone 

Hey, be patient 

The game has just begun 

He looks everywhere 

In all the nooks and corners 

‘Where are you?’ he shouts 

Hush! No one answer! 

He becomes alert 

Listening to every noise 

You’ll be caught 

If he hears your voice 

His eyes are sharp 

His ears are alert 

But our hiding places 

Are a little too smart 

He gets frustrated 

And shouts ‘I give up! C’mon!’

We step out of the shadows 

‘Yes!!! We all won!’
