Childhood Years
Childhood Years
I look around me sometimes in tears,
Wonder at things I see,
Then I think of my childhood years,
And question myself is this really me.
When did I leave the silence
For a world of cacophony and sound,
Filled with so much violence.
When in my childhood there was so much love all around.
Those days of school coming home,
After losing a fight with a friend
But then you win some and lose some
But our friendship did not end.
Playing outdoors in a big playground,
Boys and girls playing together nothing sinister,
We made So much noise so much sound
We were playing together like brother and
Sister.
Those days of college romance,
Looking keenly for that shy smile and blushing face,
Fighting for her attention taking a movie
Star's stance,
God, I really miss those heady days.
Now in chasing my ambition and dreams,
I lost myself in a world of ambitious men, amidst fears,
Of losing, So to earn money, I try out many schemes,
But how I miss my childhood years.
Thus I look around me sometimes in tears
Wonder at things I see.
Then I think of my childhood years.
Question myself is this really me.
