Her First Home
Her First Home
It was the place she felt at ease
It was the only home she knew
A home of acceptance and love
And a family of precious few
Here she could be herself
No matter what the time of day
She was the princess of this place
This home is where she loved to stay
But time and tide wait for none
And soon one grows of age
Especially for a girl
Who's at a marriage stage
She then needs to leave this home
That meant the world to her
A new home takes priority
Where all the chores she needs to master
She is required to tend
To the new house in every way
Gone are the days
Of dreaming and of play
She takes it all head on
Hoping to please and impress
But things are taken for granted
At this, her new address
She tries to visit her first home
As often as she can
But things do get difficult
With so many chores in hand
She still manages to complete
All her roles with ease
Duties towards parents and in-laws
Are the ones that never cease
Her first home begins to get neglected
As her parents are growing old
It breaks her heart to see this
Her work now increases two fold
Soon her parents pass away
It's an end of a phase
Her first home is no longer the same
Gone are those days
Her children keep her busy
So much has changed in her life
Her first home is almost forgotten
With this new role as wife
But during a visit to her first home
She remembers her past
Happy times of being a princess
If only she could have made that last!
