The Indian Vote

We have come a long way

From the independence struggle

We can now proudly say

It's no longer the law of the jungle

We are now a democracy

No bending under foreign rule

We are no longer going to be

Someone else's fool

But the responsibility of each citizen

Is even greater now.

They have to make an effort

To come out and vote somehow

And one must wisely choose

A candidate most apt

That will ensure we do not lose

Again, but turn into world leaders, in fact
