Hello Dad - Are You There

I would give anything and everything in the world

If only I could say "Hello Dad" in the same old way

As I used to in the days of yore and past glory

I wish God would give me one last chance and one divine moment

To hear my Dad's voice and see his dimpled smile

To sit with him and chat for a while on mysteries of life

I can only wish and dream endlessly for miracles to happen

The fact remains that there is no second chance in real and empirical life

For all those who have their fathers still here in their vicinity

I implore you to cherish your father with care, dignity and attention

Because you will never know the heartache and heartburn

Until you see his empty chair and unused glass !
