Heart And Mind
Heart And Mind
As she sat on the window pane, looking at the sky crimson blue;
There echoed the voices of the mind and heart, and a quarrel between the two.
With a heavy heart, the heart said; I have been alone a long time and how I long to fill in my empty space!
Grinning at this the mind exclaimed, you’re silly and romantic dear and your vision is blurred with haze!
I am power, I am the ripple and I know how to make things right! Declaimed the mind.
I do not seek power, I do not know right. I am deaf, blind, mute; all combined!
I want to reach the stars but heart you bound me with fetters of love, obstruct me from flying high;
Heavens know that I am not the fetters, I am the wings and with me you rise; pleaded the heart with a sigh.
I desire riches, I desire success, Alone I will conquer and the crown I’ll adorn.
At this the heart shed a tear, Unlucky will be that soul who will sit alone on his throne.
I pity you heart for you require a lover to care, support and please.
And I pity you mind for you cheat, lie, plan and plot and you are never at ease!
Alone I will go fast and to make a life grand and long, is my quest;
Together we will go far and live big and forever, this my heart knows best.
I dread your vision for you will never find a soul mate to carry you in your rough patch,
All I want is a heart so true and love so pure, that our rhythms match.
I protect you heart for this world is cruel and you’re fragile, I fear to see you cry
I can be broken, I can be hurt but this is my vigil;
To rise in love, to fall in love for without, I’ll slowly die.
As she sat on the window pane, looking at the sky crimson blue;
She wondered who won the quarrel between the two.
