Groan of the Foghorn

Groan of the Foghorn

The groan of the foghorn

from ages back

and with darkness all around

pounding her ears

The lights of a ship or two

miles away

the only signs of life she desired to see

Sea getting rougher and beastly

little monsters from it

galloping upto the horn

Now waking up with a shudder

the monsters are gone

and unable to discern

if it is really a dream

With darkness still around

she resigns to the fear
