God Sent

A pleasant day, apt for a drive, 

Saw the lovers go on a bike. 

They drove humming in unison, 

Their camaraderie evoked attention. 

Clouds played hide and seek, 

Probably hinting at an impeding danger. 

She felt like stopping the drive, 

Yet, she continued. 

Suddenly a boy all of ten, 

Ran towards her and tugged at her dress. 

He pointed to a spot little far, 

And urged her to come along. 

Her heart and mind,

Wanted to accompany him, 

But the soul mate took control

And convinced her to stay back. 

The boy left with longing eyes

And her heart fluttered in fear. 

She felt she was in danger, 

But couldn't ascertain the same. 

She managed to break free for a moment, 

And turned back hearing a commotion. 

A head on collision 'twas

And her friend and the bike were reduced to rubble. 

She gasped in fear, 

Her eyes pranced for the little boy, 

He was seen nowhere, 

Who was he? She wondered. 

Mysteriously he came, 

As though God sent 

Just to extend her life! 

Who was he was still a mystery.
