Discovering Myself

Burning the past under the moon,

Prelude towards a new mould,

My heart above the ocean, My soul above the sky;

My inner self, wherever I go, will always be with me.

For once in life, I unleashed my heart

And let it take the lead.

Let it twirl me fearlessly and sweep me off my feet.

Listening, as it whispers the song,

That made it skip the beat.

Out of the huts of history’s shame- I rise,

Up from the past, that’s rooted in the pain-I rise,

I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,

Welling and swelling; I bear in the tide.

Head high in the clouds, emotions sealed out.

A heart tore apart, a smile not about.

The ride along is bumpy, never feeling secure,

Heading out to somewhere, where to? Quite not sure;

Breaking through the surface; finding the right path.

Finally, on the road to home; feeling clear at last!!

A delicacy of decadence, at first glance;

The persona of style, with a touch of elegance.

I fly to unknown places, where pain and hurt once dwelled.

As the memories flow past me, my eyes start to swell.

A piece of me, in the startling blue sky,

As I spread my wings, my soul starts to fly!!
