God In A Plate
God In A Plate

With blaring loudspeakers
And words filled with pain
The fringe elements of society come
Just to wreak havoc again.
To fight their own wars
They unite the masses
And the numbers grow
As each movement passes.
This time the issue is culinary
The media has a new debate
For yesterday she was just an animal
But now she is God in a plate.
While one side feigns a fast
The other in rebellion will eat
r/>It is a party for both
But not for the source of meat.
The fight goes on
The frontiers change
From caste to religion
Their arguments range.
While neither side is right
For their cause isn’t their own
They act to reap a great mandate
Which on communal grounds is sown.
And on television it seems as if
Hunger and disease have gone
In a land where children die early
And calves are properly born.
