Glimmer

He spoke, and she listened

Beside the shore

She said, he recited

What he read before

But what was said

And what was meant

Remains a puzzle                             

To be solved, unshent

As waves crash down

And stars light up the sky

The truth remains hidden

In a whispered lie.

And though we search,

And though we try,                            

The answer eludes us

As we say goodbye.
