From This Earth
From This Earth
I was born in a place, No one told me its India,
I was attached to my land never knew it was a land with borders,
I grew up respecting my earth never knew it had demarcations,
I saw everyone moving, flying but never saw walls dividing them.
People say we are from here or there and boast on traditions,
But never saw the Sun allowing its rays to fall with conditions.
I saw the rays falling equally on all, I saw rain falling equally on all.
Who created the divisions, who made the differences.
A need for blood never asked who is the donor,
Then who is an Indian who divides himself without any honor?
Cast, religion, color all are created from humans and going with them.
Death is an end to all these differences, Under earth when we are gone,
Who can separate us all from each other, from the earth we come,
And so we return back to the Earth through soil, ashes or water
From this Earth, I came, And Empty I return. Let's make our world better.....
