Forgive And Forget

Forgive and forget-

Easy to say, difficult to implement.

Scars on the body get healed on time,

But those of heart and soul;

Can't be healed so far.

Instead we start facing within the severest of war,

Heart says move on, "Forgive and forget";

Mind says hold on, "Never forgive and never forget, but take the revenge";

A hangover of bitter realities always bites, making us stuck.

Terrible it feels! When those tormenting flashbacks,

Run through the mind.

The heart bleeds and the soul cries,

When a loved one breaks our trust,

And make our situation worst.

Alas! The profound wounds suck you dry,

Making us suffer from depression and insomnia,

Hence, snatching away the beauty from our life,

And when our heart tries to forgive;

Then those piercing and hurtful words and acts interrupt in between.

By the echoing noise in the head,

Suddenly our thoughtful mind takes charge over our sentimental heart,

Commanding us never to forgive certain kinds of words and acts;

And absolutely not forgotten too.

This is how we remain trapped;

Forgive and forget-
