Fly

A prayer for

all the souls

stuck in lethal holes

Why have you stopped

healing?

Who taught you about

this feeling?

You walk in crowds

but say no word

You say hello

but walk out on love

You walk with your head down

But you forget

you have to smile,

not frown.

You walk with so much poise

to lower the deafening noise

but its your silence that prevails

It’s what stands tall

amongst all that noise

They tell you what to think

they tell you what to say

but what they can’t control

is your path

Your Way.

You are poetry

in their dull prose

You're a lily that

shines brighter than a rose

Don’t be plain

when you can be magic

Stop being so sane

and oh so tragic

Walk into the flames

with your head so high

Stop walking with them

Instead teach them how to fly.
