Finding Light Amidst Darkness

We're all stuck at home, hearts filled with apathy 

The days pass on, clouded with uncertainty

Isolation has given rise to bitterness and tears,

But, we realise that tears aren't going to change anything.

So we wipe our eyes and try to hide our fears

I stood amidst the ocean of darkness, waiting for some ray of hope.

Tired of waiting for some solution, I was at the end of my rope

I was tired of being stoic,

We were always used to someone else being heroic

I got accustomed to the darkness as the days went by,

I realised that I didn't have any reason to cry

The ocean of darkness never existed, I just forgot to turn on the light.

This realisation dawned upon me when the less-fortunate came into my sight.

Facing adversity in the past few months had caused this change in attitude,

For, only when we see darkness we appreciate the light.

These testing times made us realise that unity was our might,

And also drenched us with the feeling of gratitude.
