The Woes of the World
I look at the world we live in,
An epitome of misery
The fact that sadness is a mere consequence dawns upon me.
We are so accustomed to noticing only what we lack,
That our fortunes fail to meet the eye
Ungratefulness is a friend of man in order to attack,
Such corruption exists in this world that every word uttered is a lie.
I look at this world of misery,
Disgusted by what I see.
Ashamed of what we have done,
Disappointment dawns on me.
A disease is being carried by this chaste earth,
Of which there is no dearth.
This disease is a creation of mankind,
The cure for this disease is ours to find
